Leadership Team

Meera Kalyani, President & Director of IT Staffing 

As our President, Meera directs the day to day operations of the company and leads the management team. As our Director of IT Staffing, she also manages the entire staffing division. Meera brings several years of experience to SwitchLane in technology-focused recruiting functions such as sourcing, direct recruiting, internal and external client management, marketing, recruiter management, training and HR. The company has grown rapidly in the last 5 years under her leadership. She has been able to expand current client relationships and bring new clients to the company by providing additional services and successfully adding new revenue streams for us.

Prior to joining SwitchLane, Meera was one of the first employees for another IT Staffing company, where she established, built and scaled their recruiting deparment. As part of this role, she dramatically increased the company's revenue and put many of their processes in place. Prior to her time in building up staffing businesses, she also spent several years working in the e-publishing industry. During this period, she worked her way up from an entry level typesetter to eventually leading projects and writing logic for how the typesetting software functioned.

Outside of work, Meera loves playing Tennis. She also manages a team of volunteers for a non-profit organization. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Madras.

Shankara Subramanian, Chief Operating Officer 

Shankara is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded SwitchLane in 2010. As a Chief Operating Officer, he is involved in all major decision-making for the company and works with the rest of the leadership team to create, implement and review company strategy on an ongoing basis. Shankara is highly technical and still hands-on with several technologies, managing several software development teams to deliver high quality solutions for our clients. He also helped SwitchLane early on by securing our first set of clients, and he still plays the role of a relationship manager with many of them.

Shankara also brings a wealth of experience working with State Government agencies. He has built complex solutions for the State Police, Department of Labor and Department of Education. Prior to starting SwitchLane, he spent several years building software products and applications for the commercial mortgage industry serving companies such Berkadia, Capmark, FannieMae, Genworth Financial, Sun Trust Bank, CIBC Canada and others.

Outside of work, Shankara loves watching movies. He also spends his time volunteering and managing a non-profit charity which serves the homeless in Wilmington, Delaware. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Thiagarajar School of Management.

Raj Gautam, Managing Partner 

Raj is a seasoned entrepreneur and management expert with 23 years of international experience. This includes managing IT companies, doing software development, managing vendors, establishing partnership alliances and executing sales transformation projects in India, US and Ireland. At SwitchLane, Raj is the head of our India operations. He manages several software development projects executed in India via an offshore model.

Prior to joining SwitchLane, Raj has worked closely with many C-level officers in the US and advised numerous entrepreneurs and well-established clients in industries such as Finance, Banking, Real Estate, E-commerce, Imaging, Health & Wellness, Consumer Durables and Telecommunications.

Outside of work, Raj enjoys singing and composing music, travelling and exploring new places. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications from the National Institute of Technology, Silchar and has received various awards including Fastest 100 growing company in Philadelphia as rated by the Wharton School of Business.
